	USTC International Students Celebrated the New Year 2019

	To celebrate the coming new year 2019, International College of USTC held a wonderful New Year Party on west campus on the evening of 27th December. More than 60 students from different countries participated in various performances and made the night enjoyable

	The party started with a beautiful dance performed by USTC X Dance Group which was enjoyed by all. Then Vithiyapathy Purushothaman from India with a group of Chinese students gave Nunchaku performance which attracted the audience very much. This performance was a real picture of USTC’s friendly and harmonious atmosphere between local and foreign students and how much foreign students like to learn and adopt Chinese Culture.
	Tai Ji performance on ancient Chinese poem “Ming Yue Ji Shi You (明月几时有）” and Huangmei Opera were heart touching performances by foreign students which reflects the attraction of Chinese culture to international students. Famous Chinese song “Mo Li Hua 茉莉花”(Arabian Jasmine Flower) was sang by students with piano accompaniment played by Russian student Oksana. Such tremendous performance made the audience also start singing with them.
	Students from different nationalities also presented their own cultural costumes with their traditional dances. Chunks of this show increases the interest of viewers to recognize the culture of different parts of the world. Comedy Dramas “PhD the name of Painful Higher Diploma” and “Asking the way” were so humorous that brought waves of laughter’s around the Hall.Two dance performances “Small Apple” and “Happy” were also very entertaining.
	At the end, Mr. Jiang, Director of International College expressed gratitude to all performers and gave his best wishes for all international students. Happy New Year!
