Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and mentally and physically healthy.
Education background:
※ Applicants for doctoral programs must have
1. Master’s degree (equivalent to master’s degree in China), pre-graduation certificate needed for those who are to complete their study in the year when they are applying
2. Academic publications or demonstrate research potentials to be approved by the supervisor they apply to
3. Language proficiency (HSK4 or TOEFL79/IELTS6 or certificate for those who graduate from schools with all courses given in English)
4. Good transcripts of their master’s study
5. Interviews may be needed according to perspective supervisors
※ Applicants for master’s programs must have
1. Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to bachelor’s degree in China), pre-graduation certificate needed for those who are to complete their study in the year when they are applying
2. Demonstrate research potentials to be approved by the supervisor they apply to
3. Language proficiency (HSK4 or TOEFL79/IELTS6 or certificate for those who graduate from schools with all courses given in English)
4. Good transcripts of their bachelor’s study
5. Interviews may be needed according to perspective supervisors
※ Applicants for bachelor’s programs must have
1. High school diploma, pre-graduation certificate needed for those who are to complete their study in the year when they are applying
2. Pass the entrance examination (CSC funded programs with their own recommendation process)
3. Language proficiency (HSK4 or TOEFL79/IELTS6 or certificate for those who graduate from schools with all courses given in English)
4. Good transcripts in their high school study
※Students who have been granted for other Chinese scholarship or fundingcannot apply for CSC scholarship.
※ Scholarship programs have their own criteria in addition to the items stated above
Students must follow the Code for International Students of USTC
1. Comply with Chinese law and respect Chinese manners and customs.
2. Comply with regulations and disciplines of the University and respect teachers and other faculty members.
3. Obey the accommodation arrangements and housing regulations for international students.
4. Finish registration procedures and annual evaluation for students at given time each year.
5. Work hard on one’s study or research and complete all study or research tasks required by the curriculum or one’s supervisor.
6. Scholarship students must comply with scholarship programs regulations as well.
7. Students who do not obey codes above will be disqualified as international students at USTC.
