Warriors: The Third Consecutive Champion |

On
May 25th, the USTC football championship, hosted by International College of
USTC and undertook by USTC Graduate Union, successfully ended on the east
campus of USTC. This is the third consecutive champion of Warriors from 2017 to
2019.

|
|
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) organizes the football championship every year, with more than 30 teams taking part in it this year. As one of the teams, USTC Warriors team participates in the USTC football championship every year. The USTC Warriors team has more than 40 players, but according to the regulation of the USTC competition committee, each team can only be represented by 18 players. The 18 players come from different countries : 4 from Nigeria, 3 from Ghana, one from Equatorial Guinea, one from Togo, one from Iran, one from Yemen, one from Azerbaijan, one from Zambia, one from Togo, one from Morocco, one from Pakistan and one from India. |

Group stage
In a group, only the two teams with the most points can be classified.
In the first match warriors beat Monk's team by 2-0. Goals were scored by warriors captain Salva (OBAMA ) and star striker Marouane. Warriors won their second match against team “Old Courtyard” by 9-0. Marouan , Salva , Shenki, and Kazi scored 2 goals each and 1 goal was scored by vice-captain Ulvi.

From eighth-finals to the final
In the eighth-finals, warriors won by 2-0 against team Three High Ships and was qualified for the quarter final. Both goals were scored by Marouane. In the quarter final warriors defeated team CAMP by 3 goals scored by shenki (2 goals) and Marouane(1 goal). Warriors kept their journey of winning through the semi-final too and beat team CAMP by 2-0. Goals were scored by Víctor and George. Finally, Warriors won the championship by defeating team “kickers” by 1-0. That was Warriors third consecutive champion from 2017 to 2019.

Individual awards
The USTC competition committee awarded a player on team warriors as the best player in the championship. His name is Marouane and he is from Morocco. The best goalkeeper of the championship went to Farzin who is from Irania. |

|
|
|
Players in team warriors are from different countries who are currently studying at USTC. They are united and the atmosphere in the team is very friendly because of professional supervision and support of International College of USTC. |
