Three Outstanding FSA Members awarded for great contributions to USTC international community in 2019 and 2020 |

FSA is the Foreign Students Association of University of
Science and Technology of China. Established only few years ago, FSA has become
the greatest foreign students union that faciliatates ISO to manage and serve
international students at USTC. Under the supervision of ISO, FSA has organized
many wonderful extracurricular events and provided voluntary services for our
international students, like pick-up service, USTC sports gala and new year
party. The board members of FSA worked diligently and contributed a lot to
international students from June 2019 to July 2020. It is necessary to show our
greatest gratitude to their hard work over the last year.

At the end of the term, FSA board members were required to report their job and compete for the honour of Outstanding FSA Members. On July 27, FSA board members attended the online evaluation meeting and all of them made great presentations to report what they have achieved in the last year. After careful assessment and evaluation, the selection committee from International Student Office(ISO) finalized the list of outstanding FSA members based on their overall performance. The selected outstanding FSA members are：Faryal Farooq Cheepa, Muhammad Hunain Memon and Tariq Habib Khan. In mid-August, they were awarded with certificates and trophies by Mr.Jiang, deputy director of International College as the acknowledgement for their excellent contribution to USTC international community. |

Faryal Farooq Cheepa: She worked hard during the past several months as the co-chair of the Department of Entertainment and Culture. She excellently organized some great cultural activities, including the Welcome Party and New Year Party. She has also hosted many events such as new year parties, Sino-culture festival, etc. She remains an active volunteer/organizer in many activities. Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, she also worked as a responsible volunteer to cooperate with ISO and support international students of USTC. As the co-chair of the Department of entertainment and culture, she did a good job of managing her group and kept a friendly and harmonious relationship with her team members. |

Muhammad Hunain Memon: He has been working with ISO from 2017 to 2020 and remains the core member of FSA as the Head of Life department from June 2019 to July 2020. He has hosted many events such as new year parties, Sino-culture festival, etc. He remains an active volunteer/organizer in almost all of the events during the three years. After appointed as FSA member, he was quite responsible for his job as the head of life in FSA. He successfully cooperated with ISO to organize the pick-up service for new students. He also has a great spirit of community service. Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, he worked as a responsible person to cooperate with ISO and support international students of USTC. During the past two semesters, some international students reported health problems, and Mr. Hunain was always willing to accompany those students to go to hospital and help them communicate with doctors, insurance companies, and ISO. |

Tariq Habib Khan: He did a great job in cooperating with ISO as the Head of Department of Culture. He has been actively participating in his volunteering services throughout his academic session. He remains an active participant in sports events. He always actively participates in many cultural activities and voluntary activities such as welcome party, new year party, etc. Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, he also worked as a responsible volunteer to cooperate with ISO and support international students of USTC, which left a great impression on all the ISO working staffs. |
