2020 Admission Catalog for

Self-financed International Non-degree Programs

一、项目介绍 INTRODUCTION

希望到中国科学技术大学进修某个专业或从事一段时间访问研究工作的外国学生，可向我校提出申请。关于专业进修或访问研究的内容，建议学生在制定本人学习计划之前，向我校相关院系及教授进行咨询。根据进修专业的层次和申请人学历，分为普通进修生和高级进修生。普通进修生可进修硕士专业或从事硕士层次的访问研究，高级进修生可进修博士专业或从事博士层次的访问研究。进修生的学习期限一般为1-2学年。专业进修课程成绩合格者发给进修证书，不授予学位。如有需要，亦可提供课程学习成绩单。

International student may apply for taking courses for a certain major or doing research at USTC as a visiting student. It is suggested that before submitting applications, the applicants ask for advice from our professors in related field or related departments. International student can apply for coming as a General Scholar or a Senior Scholar depending on the level of program/major and applicant’s qualification. General Scholar can take courses for a program/major or conduct research at master’s level, while Senior Scholar can take courses for a program/major or conduct research at doctoral level. The duration of study/research is 1-2 academic years. A Study Certificate will be awarded if successfully finishes his /her study at USTC. Official transcripts are also available upon request.

三、申请资格 QUALIFICATION OF APPLICANTS

1、非中国籍公民，身体健康

Non-Chinese citizens，physically and mentally healthy

2、申请作为普通进修生的，必须具有学士学位（须与中国大学学士学位相当），不超过50周岁

  申请作为高级进修生的，必须具有硕士学位（须与中国大学硕士学位相当），不超过55周岁

  Applicants for General Scholar must have Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in China) and no more than 50 years old

Applicants for Senior Scholar must have Master’s degree (equivalent to Master’s degree in China) and no more than 55 years old

3、汉语水平: 新版HSK四级及以上 （英语授课专业的申请人无需此条件）

Chinese Proficiency：new HSK Band 4 or above (not necessary for English-taught majors)

四、申请步骤 APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1、网上申请。申请进修专业课程的，网上申请截止时间：2020年3月31日（2020年9月开学报到）；申请来校访问研究的，可随时申请。

Online Application. Deadline for receiving application materials for course study is March 31, 2020 (program will start in Sept.2020). Applicants for conducting research can submit application at any time.

2、鼓励申请人在递交申请前自行联系我校相关领域的老师，如获得我校老师接收意向，可在递交申请时附上相关证明材料。

Applicants are encouraged to contact USTC professors in related research field before submission of application materials and if have obtained pre-acceptance from USTC professor, please submit proof document of pre-acceptance together with application materials.

3、根据初步审核情况和我校外国留学生招生录取委员会的要求，申请人有可能需要参加面试，具体安排另行通知。

Applicants may needto be interviewed depending on the result of first review and requirement from USTC International Student Admission Committee, which will be notified later.

五、申请材料 APPLICATION MATERIALS

1、《外国留学生入学申请表》

2、护照复印件（如有还需提供来华签证页或居留许可页的复印件）

Photocopy of passport (including pages with Chinese visa or residence permit, if have)

3、申请普通进修生须提交经公证的学士学位证书和本科成绩单的复印件；申请高级进修生须提交经公证的硕士学位证书和硕士成绩单的复印件。

Notarized photocopies of Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcripts for Bachelor’s degree education must be submitted for application for General Scholar. Notarized photocopies of Master’s degree certificate and transcripts for Master’s degree education must be submitted for application for Senior Scholar.

4、汉语水平考试新版HSK四级证书和成绩单的复印件(录取后来校报到时需出示证书和成绩单的原件) （英语授课专业的申请人无需提供）

Photocopies of Certificate of new HSK Band 4 and transcripts (original certificate and transcripts are required on registration if get admission) (not necessary for English-taught majors)

5、《外国人体格检查表》（请在附件里下载）

Foreigner Physical Examination Form  (please download in the attachment)    

6、曾就读大学的两位副教授或教授的推荐信

Two recommendation letters from associate professors or professors from the university

7、不少于800字的学习/研究计划

Study plan/Research proposal (no less than 800 words)

8、个人简历 Curriculum Vitae

9、除上述申请材料外，根据情况我校可要求申请者提供补充材料

In addition to the above application materials, the university may require applicant to provide supplementary materials, depending on the circumstances.

六、录取与报到

1、所有申请经我校外国留学生招生录取委员会审批通过后方可录取。

Applicants who pass the review by USTC International Student Admission Committee will be finally admitted. 

2、被录取者，由我校寄发《录取通知书》和《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》(JW202表)。被录取者应持普通护照、《录取通知书》、《外国来华留学人员签证申请表》、《外国人体格检查记录》及所有体格检查报告原件前往中国驻留学生所在国使（领）馆办理来华签证。

Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) will be issued by USTC. The admitted students should take their personal and ordinary passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202), and original Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners as well as other original documents of physical examination to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China in their home countries, and apply for student visa (X1 visa).

3、持以上材料按《录取通知书》规定的日期到我校办理入学报到手续。入学者必须持个人普通护照和X1签证入境。

Students shall come to USTC for registration during the dates indicated on the Admission Notice with the aforementioned documents. Students must enter China with ordinary passport and X1 visa.

七、相关费用 EXPENSES

1、学费：普通进修生每学年26000元人民币，高级进修生每学年32000元人民币

Tuition fee for General Scholar: RMB 26,000 yuan per academic year

Tuition fee for Senior Scholar: RMB 32,000 yuan per academic year

2、保险费：每学年800元人民币

Insurance fee: RMB 800 yuan per academic year

3、住宿：留学生宿舍数量有限，未预订成功的学生，须自行联系校外住宿。留学生宿舍，根据房型和大小，住宿费每月500—1000元人民币不等。

Accommodation: Due to the limitation of dormitory capacity, those who fail to make reservation need to find the accommodation off campus by themselves. Accommodation fees for on-campus dormitories vary from RMB 500—1000 yuan per month on room type and size.
