2020 Call for Applications

一、项目介绍

中国科学技术大学暑期汉语培训项目面向全球招收有志于学习汉语、加强汉语交流应用能力、了解中国文化的国际学生。2020年暑期汉语培训项目将开设为期五周的初、中级汉语课程和中国文化课程，同时开设中国当代社会经济文化讲座，并组织市内外文化参访活动和中外学生交流联谊活动。

I. Introduction

The University of Science and Technology of China offers a 5-week intensive Chinese Language Training Program for international students who have interest in Chinese language and culture. The program includes beginning/intermediate Chinese language courses, Chinese culture courses, and lectures on sociocultural and economic issues in contemporary China. We also organize international student mixer and field trips in and near Hefei.

二、课程及活动安排

1、 项目时间：6月22日--7月24日

2、 初、中级汉语课程：周一至周五上午，每天3学时，通过听说读写各方面的学习和训练，初步掌握运用汉语进行日常交流的能力，授课语言为汉语。

3、 中国文化课程：周一至周五下午，每天3学时，全面客观地介绍中国地理、历史、社会现状、风俗习惯等文化知识，并开设中国书法、绘画、剪纸、中医、太极拳等文化体验课，授课语言为英语。

4、 文化参访活动：周末安排历史名城、文化古迹、知名企业等一系列探索和考察活动。

II. Program Details

1. Duration: June 22 – July 24, 2020.

2. Beginning and intermediate Chinese language courses: You will attend three classes every morning from Monday to Friday. The courses will help you practice and improve your Chinese skills in listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, and daily communication. The courses are given in Chinese.

3. Chinese culture courses: You will attend three classes every afternoon from Monday to Friday. The courses include lectures on China’s geography, history, society, and customs, and experience classes of Chinese calligraphy, painting, paper-cutting, Chinese medicine, and Tai-Chi. The courses are offered in English.

4. Field trips: You will join weekend trips to historical sites, cultural attractions, famous enterprises, etc. to explore a real China.

三、成绩与证书

项目结束后，符合条件的学生可以获得成绩单和结业证书。如果学生缺课超过课时总数的四分之一，则无法获得结业证书。成绩单每人一份，成绩采取百分制，附有课程总学时和学生出勤情况。

III. Transcript and Certificate

Upon completion of the courses, students who meet the assessment requirements will be issued with a transcript and a certificate. Students who are absent for more than a quarter of the total classes will not get the certificate. Each student will get one copy of transcript with percentage grades, the total course time and attendance record on it.

2020年5月1日前提交完整申请材料

Please submit your application before May 1^st, 2020.

五、申请资格

1、持有效外国护照的非中国籍公民

2、年龄在18—30周岁之间

3、身心健康

4、高中毕业以上学历

5、无犯罪记录

6、 英语水平至少要满足日常交际的需要

V. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizens with a foreign passport

2. Between 18 – 30 years old

3. In good health

4. High school diploma or above

5. No criminal record

6. Good command of English

六、申请材料（扫描件，在线提交）

1、 护照个人信息页

2、 最后学历证明或在学证明（中文或英文）

3、 一封所在学校推荐信（中文或英文）

4、 汉语水平证书或汉语学习证明（有则提供）

5、 一寸白底照片

VI. Application Materials (Please submit the scanned copy of the below documents online.)

1. Passport data page

2. Certificate of your highest academic achievement, or proof of enrollment at your current educational institution (Chinese or English)

3. Recommendation letter from your institution (Chinese or English)

4. HSK Certificate or official transcripts of Mandarin training (where applicable)

5. ID photo with a white backdrop (413*295 pixels)

七、申请流程

1. 点击在线申请（只用于非学历生项目申请）

2.  注册账号、填写信息、上传材料（打星号的为必填必传内容）、提交申请

八、费用标准及支付方式

支付方式：确定录取后，我们会通知被录取的学生通过线上支付的方式缴纳预注册费2000元，之后寄发录取材料。学生来校报到时交齐剩余费用，人民币现金或者POS机刷卡支付。

退款政策：无论是否来校报到，预注册费2000元不予退还。报到后，所有费用不予退还。

VIII. Fees and Payment

Payment: After the admission is confirmed, we will inform the admitted applicants to pay the pre-registration fee of 2000 RMB through online payment, and send them the admission materials. Students should pay the remaining fees in RMB cash or by card when they arrive at the school on the day of registration.

Refund: The pre-registration fee is non-refundable. After registration, all fees are non-refundable.

九、签证、保险、餐饮及住宿

1、签证

被录取的学生须持录取通知书和来华学习签证申请表（JW202）到当地中国使馆申请来华学习签证。学生必须持学习签证入境，并确保在华期间签证有效。

2、保险

国际学生必须按照国家有关规定和学校要求投保。学生缴纳保险费，学校负责统一投保。

3、餐饮

学生可使用校园卡在校内食堂就餐以及使用图书馆、健身房等相关设施。

4、住宿

校内学生宿舍采取预定制，先到先得，确定录取后会统一通知宿舍预定细则。如果校内住宿已满，学生需要自行寻找校外住宿。国际学生在校外居住的，应当及时到居住地公安部门办理登记手续。报到时须提交住所的详细地址及电话。

IX. Visa, Insurance, Food and Accommodation

1. Visa

The admitted students should submit the Visa Application Form (JW202) and the admission notice to the Chinese Embassy or consulate to apply for a Chinese Student Visa. Students must enter the country with a Student Visa and ensure that the Visa is valid during their stay in China.

2. Insurance

International students are required to purchase insurance in accordance with state regulations and school policies. Students pay the insurance fee, and USTC is responsible for purchasing the insurance.

3. Food

Students can use the student card in the campus canteen, as well as library and gym.

4. Accommodation

Student dormitories on campus are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. If on-campus accommodation is full, students are required to find off-campus accommodation on their own. International students who live off campus shall register with the local police station in time. Full address and telephone number of the residence must be submitted at the time of registration.
